Our mist nets are crafted from premium nylon netting, offering deep black, UV-stable material that is strong, durable, and effective. Softer than polyester, the nets are discreet and barely visible, making them highly efficient for catching passerines in a wide variety of habitats, including open areas.

Each net features a 30 mm x 30 mm mesh for optimal performance.

Key Features

Individually Numbered – Each net includes a serial number placed on one of the colour-coded loops and the product label.
Improved Loops – Redesigned mist net loops are longer and stronger for enhanced durability.
Colour-Coded Top Loops – Equipped with stoppers for faster, easier setup.
Optimized for Mist Net Poles – New loops are specifically designed for use with our Mist Net Poles.

Specifications

Dimensions: Net length (without loops), height, and number of shelves are listed in the product table.
Material Strength: Measured by denier (a unit of fibre weight) and ply:
- 70 denier / 2-ply – lightweight and thin
- 110 denier / 2-ply – stronger and more durable
- 210 denier / 2-ply – thinner than 210d/3-ply
- 210 denier / 3-ply – the strongest option
Mesh Size: Defined by one side of the square mesh (e.g., “30 mm” = 30 × 30 mm).
Shelves: Nets with four or five shelves include two tethered strands for stability.

Purchasing Policy

Important Notice: Mist nets are only sold to authorized persons. To complete an order, you must provide:

A valid Banding Permit (with mist net authorization) issued by the United States Geological Survey (USGS), OR
Permission for bat catching.

Invoices must be issued in the name of the valid permit holder.
Each mist net is individually numbered, and that number is registered to the purchaser.
