SH- 5-N replaces SH-5
These pliers were built after consulting with banders. The hole is near the end of the pliers. This is done to reduce the number of feathers getting caught in the pliers. This situation occurs when banding Owls. Banders rotate the band closing it in a series of applications eliminating any feathers being caught in the band. The new platform allows more leverage to be applied to the band for easier closing. No difference in pricing!
